About the PRÉVENTION Cohort

The PRÉVENTION cohort is made up of over 4,000 pregnant participants, plus their partners and unborn children. Participant recruitment (2022-2025) is carried out as part of a large-scale longitudinal study that begins when participants become pregnant and follows children and their parents over several years.

This cohort will support the work of many researchers, both in Quebec and around the world, which will help improve our understanding of factors that influence children’s health, development, behaviour and mental health, ultimately preventing attendant problems and attenuating harmful effects.

Source studies

The PRÉVENTION cohort was developed from three source studies, involving the design of a collaborative platform that would establish a large-scale data bank including biological samples that track participants from conception to 30 months postpartum.
