Access to cohort data

The data from the PRÉVENTION cohort stored in the data bank (Data bank and human biological samples on premature births, pre-eclampsia, other pregnancy complications, child health and its determinants) are made available to the researchers who contributed to identifying the tools, tests and variables used, in addition to other researchers who may request access for research projects studying pre- and postnatal environments as well as child health and development.

The many prenatal factors related to mothers--including psychosocial factors (e.g., prenatal maternal stress) and those related to lifestyle (e.g., use of medication like antidepressants and substances like cannabis, exposure to certain environmental contaminants)--can be associated with many pregnancy complications and affect children’s health and development. Beyond these maternally related factors, there are also many factors related to fathers or partners that can also influence children’s developmental trajectories and health either directly or indirectly (e.g., birth weight, obesity, substance use during conception, exposure to environmental contaminants, mental health and support within the couple). This bank seeks to improve our understanding of risk and protective factors related to pregnancy and child health, taking a longitudinal perspective from conception to adulthood and considering the role of pre- and postnatal environments, as influenced by a child’s biological parents and, if applicable, their partners.
